DSTTi (aka Toptoy TTDSi) Installation Guide

Important:
Please note that not every DSTTi needs firmware fix!
Please follow the DSTTi Driver Setup Guide to setup the card first.
If you get the error message like this :
An error has occured. Press and hold the POWER Button to turn the system off. Please refer to the Nintendo DSi Operations Manual for details.
Please check the firmware version of your DSi or 3DS according to these two steps:
- Click SETTING (with the Tool Icon) on the main menu
- Check the right hand corner of the top screen which says VER 1.x
Then choose the correspondent firmware fix guide below to upgrade your DSTTi to be compatible with your DS console.

DS Compatibility
The following consoles are supported: DS, DS Lite, DSi & DSi XL.
For DSi & DSi XL, the supported firmware versions are: 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.4.1, & 1.4.2
Preparation ( Checklist Before Installation)
Hardware
- 1 x DS Lite / DSi
- A DSi console with firmware lower than 1.4.2 (1.4.2E, 1.4.2J, 1.4.2U & 1.4.2)
- If you don’t have a DSi with firmware lower than 1.4.2, you have to use a DS Lite console.
- 1 x DSTTi Card
- 1 x USB Reader
- 1 x Micro SD/SDHC Memory Card
Software (Please Click the Driver / Firmware Name for the Latest Download)
The driver used for firmware update is TTMenu Kernel v1.17. Don't use any other drivers to do the firmware update, or you may end up with a DEAD card.

Installation
Please upgrade the DSTTi firmware first before installing the driver if you want to use the DSTTi on the DSi with the latest compatible firmware.
Format a Micro SD/SDHC Card
- Using Windows XP/Vista/7 Format Tool
- Using Panasonic Memory Card Format Program
- Using Mac Memory Card Format Tool
Using Windows XP/Vista/7 Format Tool
After inserting the microSD into the card reader, go to My Computer.
b) Right click the driver representing the microSD memory card.
c) Choose Format

d) Click Start to format the memory card in FAT32

Using Panasonic Memory Card Format Software
Note:
If your memory cards have capacity bigger than 32GB, please download the SD/SDHC/SDXC Memory Cards Format Software.
If your memory cards have capacity equal or smaller than 32GB, please download the SD/SDHC Memory Cards Format Software.

- Insert SD/SDHC Memory Card into reader/writer.
- Click on [Start], point to [All Programs] -> [Panasonic] -> [SD Formatter VX.X], and click on [SD Formatter VX.X].
- “X.X” means the version number of SD Memory Card Formatting Software.
- If “User Account Control” window is displayed on the screen, please click on [Arrow].
- The main window is displayed on the screen.
- Select the target drive by drive list and check SD/SDHC Memory Card size.
- Click on [Format].
- After clicking on it, confirmation window is displayed on the screen. Here, if [OK] is clicked, this software executes the format operation. On the contrary, if [Cancel] is clicked, this software cancels the format operation and returns to the main window.
- The following status window is displayed on the screen during the format operation.
Note: [Cancel] on this window is available only if either “FULL (Erase ON)” or “FULL (Erase OFF)” is selected as format type option. If “QUICK” is selected as format type option, this button is not available. - After the format operation completion, click [OK] and remove the Memory Card from your PC.
- Reinsert the memory card to the PC to start using the memory card.
Using Mac Memory Card Format Tool
- Plug your memory card reader into a USB port on your Mac. Insert the microSD / microSDHC card into the memory card reader's microSD / microSDHC slot, and the microSD / microSDHC card will mount on your Mac desktop.
- In an open Finder window, single-click "Applications" in the Side-Bar and scroll down to find the Utilities folder. Find Disk Utility in the Utilities folder and double-click the "Disk Utility" application to launch it.
- In the opened Disk Utility application, single-click to select the microSD / microSDHC card in the left-hand Drives column. Then, single-click to select the "Erase" button in the top row of radio buttons. Select the format MS-DOS (FAT) to format the microSD / microSDHC card on the "Volume Format" pop-up button. When you have finished selecting the formatting options, click "Erase."
- A new dialogue box will pop up in "Disk Utility," asking if you are sure you wish to erase the microSD / microSDHC card. Caution: Erasing the microSD / microSDHC card will permanently erase any files. Make sure you have backed up any file you wish to keep. To continue with the formatting process, click "Erase."
- Once the microSD / microSDHC card has been erased, it will mount on your Mac desktop just as any other removable drive.
DSTTi Firmware Fix For DSi Firmware 1.4.2
Important:
Please use one of the following DS consoles to update the DSTTi to be compatible with DSi firmware v1.4.2.
- DSi / DSi XL with firmware lower than v1.4.2
- DS Lite
To Check Your DSi Firmware Version:
- Click SETTING (with the Tool Icon) on the main menu
- Check the right hand corner of the top screen which says VER 1.x
Warning:
- Please make sure that the console is full charged.
- Place the console on a stable and flat table before upgrading the firmware of DSTTi. This is to avoid bricking your DSTTi during the process.
- Please format the micro SD/SDHC card in FAT32 before the installation.
1. Please download the firmware 1.42UpgradeDSTTi and driver TTMenu Kernel v1.17 on your computer.
Note: the driver used for firmware update is TTMenu Kernel v1.17. Don't use any other drivers to do the firmware update, or you may end up with a DEAD card.
2. Unzip the files downloaded (using Winrar) on your PC.
- Winrar can be downloaded from www.download.com by searching for Winrar at the Search.
- Unzip the files mentioned under the Software Preparation above, you will get:

3. Now copy all the above eight files to the root of the Micro SD /SDHC memory card.
4. Plug in the Micro SD/SDHC to the DSTTi. Insert the DSTTi card with the microSD/SDHC into the slot 1 of the DS console. Turn on the DS console.
- If you see the following icon with SpongeBob’s Atlantis Squarepantis THQ, good for you, your DSTTi has been flashed to 1.4.2. Please copy your own data onto the micro SD/SDHC and enjoy the ultimate fun on your DSi /DSi XL v 1.4.2.

- If you see the following icon with ALEX RIDER STORMBREAKER THX, please touch the touch screen or press button A to continue.

5. Select the firmware file by pressing A on the right hand side control pad. Then press X+Y to continue the upgrade and leave the console alone in a flat place until the upgrade is done.

6. Please wait patiently for the upgrading.

7. The following screen shows the upgrading is successful. Please press any button to power off your DSi (XL)/ DS Lite.

8. Please restart your DSi (XL)/ DS Lite. If you see the following picture, congratulations! You have successfully upgraded your DSTTi. Now you can enjoy your DSi (XL) with 1.4.2E.

DSTTi Firmware Fix For DSi Firmware 1.4.1
Not every DSTTi card requires firmware fix, please follow the steps here to check whether your DSTTi card needs firmware update or not.
1. If the DSTTi card is used on DS Lite,please refer to the setup guide here directly.
2. If the DSTTi card is used on DSi or DSi XL, please follow the guide here first.
3. If the DSi / DSi XL display this error message: 'An error has occurred. Press and hold the POWER Button to turn the system off. Please refer to the Nintendo DSi Operations Manual for details. " That means the flashcart is not compatible with the firmware of the DSi and you need to do the firmware fix for your DSTTi card. Otherwise, you do not need to upgrade the firmware of your DSTTi card.
Important: if you want to update you DSTTi on your DSi console, please make sure that your DSi console is having a firmware version lower than 1.4.1. If your DSi has been updated to version 1.4.1, you will need to use a DS Lite console to update your DSTTi. Please take note, the firmware is different from the driver.
Warning:
- Full charged battery and you plugged in the AC charger.
- Place it on a stable and flat table before upgrading the firmware of DSTTi. This is to avoid bricking your DSTTi during the process.
To Check Your DSi Firmware Version:
- Click SETTING (with the Tool Icon) on the main menu
- Check the right hand corner of the top screen which says VER 1.x
- Plug your DS console to the wall to make sure that the DS console power supply will not be interrupted during the firmware upgrade process.
- Please download the firmware DSTTi_v1.4.1_firmware and driver TTMenu Kernel v1.17. The driver used for firmware update is TTMenu Kernel v1.17. Don't use any other drivers to do the firmware update, or you may end up with a DEAD card.
- Unzip the files downloaded (using Winrar) on your PC.
- Winrar can be downloaded from www.download.com by searching for Winrar at the Search.
- Unzip the files mentioned under the Software Preparation above, you will get:
- How To Use.txt
- Marche à suivre.txt
- rom_pcb0.dat
- rom_pcb1.dat
- rom_pcb2.dat
- TTi141UPGRADE.nds
- TTMenu
- TTMENU.SYS
- TTMENU.DAT
- Now copy the all the above nine files to the root folder of the Micro SD /SDHC memory card.
- Plug in the Micro SD/SDHC to the DSTTi. Insert the DSTTi with the microSD into the slot 1 of the DS console. Turn on the DS console.
- For DS & DS Lite, you will see the message of WARNING – HEALTH AND SAFETY. Please touch the touch screen or press button A to continue.

- The screen will be changed to the following icon with the name Star Wars Lethal Alliance Ubisoft. Please touch the icon to continue.

- Wait for a few seconds for the DSTTi to load.

- Select the TTiUPGRADE

- Then it will say that Press X+Y to begin…

- The following screen shows that the update is 18.75% done.
The update will erase the flash memory and its content (finished around 5mins)
Then a programming will show up (10mins or more..)
Warning:
- Full charged battery and you plugged in the AC charger.
- Place it on your table for a while to avoid bricking your DSTTi, since most of the cart tends to freeze when you moved them anyway.
- You will hear a fancy melody with a message that you have successfully updated your DSTTi internal firmware. Congratulation.
- Please restart your console
DSTTi Driver Setup Guide
- Download the latest driver TTMenu Kernel v1.18.
- Unzip the file downloaded (using 7-zip v4.65 for windows) on your PC
- 7-zip v4.65 for windows can be downloaded from www.7-zip.org .
- Unzip the files mentioned under the Software Preparation above, you will get:
- TTMenu
- TTMENU.SYS
- TTMENU.DAT
- Select all the above three unzipped files and copy them to the microSD memory card



- Copy your own files, including music, movies, pictures and other data to the Micro SD/SDHC memory card.
- Plug in the Micro SD/SDHC to the DSTT. Insert the DSTT with the microSD into the slot 1 of the DS console. Turn on the DS console.
- For DS & DS Lite, you will see the WARNING – HEALTH AND SAFETY. Please touch the touch screen or press button A to continue.

- For DSi or DSi XL, the screen will be changed to the following icon with the name Star Wars Lethal Alliance Ubisoft. Please touch the icon to continue.

- Wait for a few seconds for the DSTTi to load.

- Congratulation if you have come this far as you have successfully set up your DSTTi. There you go. Enjoy your DS with the multimedia functions.
