1. Unzip the file downloaded (using Winrar) on your PC

a. Winrar can be downloaded from www.download.com by searching for Winrar at the Search.

b. Unzip the files mentioned under the Software Preparation above, you will have

 

R4iGold_3DS2.2_Patch	Wood_R4iGold_V1.40b
3DS22Patch_R4iGold3DS_NDSi.nds 3DS22Patch_R4iGold3DS_NDSL.nds  readme.txt	__rpg _DS_MENU.DAT changelog.txt readme.txt

2. Copy all the above seven unzipped files onto the root of the micro SD/SDHC card after format the micro SD card in FAT32.

 

3. Plug in the Micro SD/SDHC card to the R4i Gold 3DS card. Insert the R4i Gold with the micro SD/SDHC into the slot 1 of the DS console. Turn on the DS console.

 

4. Select the icon on your console below 

  

 

  

 

5. Select the correspondent firmware file by pressing A.

    For DSi (XL): 3DS22Patch_R4iGold3DS_NDSi.nds

 

 

6. When you get the following screen, please read every word carefully before upgrading. 

 

7. Please press button A to continue and leave the console alone in a flat place until the upgrade is done.

 

8. The following screen shows that The R4i Gold 3DS card has been upgraded successfully. 

 

9. Once the update is finished, you can use the R4i Gold 3DS card with the same micro SD card on your 3DS 2.2.0-4e to test if the card has been updated successfully.
